IU Students Awarded Gilman Scholarships

Update

Rachel Noyes, an Indiana University junior from the Bloomington campus, was recently awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship to pursue studies overseas. Noyes, a major in Interior Design, who will be studying in Copenhagen this summer, received an award of $1,500.

Update

Robyn Brush, an Indiana University senior from the Bloomington campus, was recently awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship to pursue studies overseas.  Brush, a double major in Gender Studies and Psychology, who will be studying in Amsterdam this summer, received an award of $4,000.

Matthew Basore, an Indiana University senior from the Bloomington campus, recently accepted the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship to pursue studies overseas.  Basore, a Fine Arts major studying this summer in Venice, Italy, received an award of $3,000.  Two other Indiana University Bloomington students have been offered Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships to study overseas this summer in Japan and Morocco. 

This was the first summer application cycle open to all undergraduates which resulted in the Gilman Scholarship Program awarding 520 summer scholarships.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education.

Online applications for the Spring 2012 cycle of the Gilman scholarship will open August 2011. For more information, visit the Gilman Program website.
