Program Specific Scholarships
Scholarships are available to the following programs, from Overseas Study and from other IU units.
Scholarships awarded by Overseas Study are based on both financial need and academic merit. Other units employ independent criteria, but generally include academic merit and financial need.
Academic year
- Aix-en-Provence, France: Limited Overseas Study scholarships of $1,250-2,250 each; Leake Scholarship of $2,000
- Bologna, Italy: Limited Overseas Study scholarships of $1,250-2,250 each; IUB Department of French & Italian Carol Hofstadter Scholarship of $1,000
- Canterbury, England: Limited Overseas Study scholarships of $1,250-2,250 each
- Freiburg, Germany: Limited Overseas Study scholarships of $1,250-2,250 each; $1,000 Catherine Clarke Fraser Scholarship
- Madrid, Spain: Limited Overseas Study scholarships of $1,250-2,250
- Nagoya, Japan: Limited Overseas Study scholarships of $1,250-2,250; Japanese government scholarships of up to $10,000 and remission of IU fees; $1,250 IU Office of the Vice President for International Affairs Kaoru Ando Memorial Scholarships for academic year participants only
- Any academic year program listed above: Stryker Scholarship of $2,000.
Semester
- Adelaide, Australia: Reduced-rate exchange positions for 1-2 Indiana residents per year
- Aix-en-Provence, France: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each
- Bologna, Italy: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each
- Buenos Aires, Argentina: One Rachel DiPietro James CIEE Scholarship of $1,000, typically awarded to fall semester participant.
- Canberra, Australia: Reduced-rate exchange positions for 1-2 Indiana residents per year
- Canterbury, England: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each
- Copenhagen, Denmark: Overseas Study scholarships of $1,000-3,000 each
- Freiburg, Germany: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each
- Hyderabad, India: Office of the Vice President for International Affairs scholarships of $1,500 each
- Lima, Peru: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each; Merle E. Simmons Scholarship of $1,000
- Madrid, Spain: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each
- Nagoya, Japan: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,000 each
- Perth, Australia: Reduced-rate exchange positions for 1-2 Indiana residents per year
- Santiago, Chile: Pauline Eck scholarship of $750
- Vienna, Austria: Sinor scholarship of $1,000
- Wollongong, Australia: Reduced-rate exchange positions for 1-2 Indiana residents per year
Summer
- Copenhagen, Denmark: Overseas Study scholarships of $750-1,500 each
- Dakar, Senegal: Overseas Study scholarships of $500-750 each
- Santiago, Dominican Republic: Overseas Study scholarships of $500-750
- Graz, Austria: Overseas Study scholarships of $500-750 each
- Salamanca, Spain: Overseas Study scholarships of $500-750 each
