Please note: Indiana University co-sponsors CIEE Open Campus programs as single-site options only through standard billing and academic arrangements between IU and the program provider. Course Load

18 IU credit hours

• CIEE courses for program students only
• 3 credits of French language (based on placement test)
• 15 credits of additional coursework in English
• Optional internship or service learning (3 credits)
• Two courses per block*
  • *CIEE allows a minimum of 15 credits for enrollment; Indiana University students are required to enroll in 18 credits (two classes during each of the three blocks).
  • * All classes must be taught in-person from the CIEE Paris Center (internship and service learning included). Exceptions to take a synchronous, online-taught CIEE class (from another CIEE Open Campus site) will only be granted on the basis of academic rationale, and permission from Overseas Study is required.
• Please note: Independent study/research is not an option for IU students on this program. Students cannot earn credit for independent study/research on the Paris CIEE program.

• Students are required to live in program-provided housing in Paris. Pending availability, the options are:
  
  • Shared apartments
  • Residence Halls
  • Homestays

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

Business majors must be enrolled in or have completed (or will complete) the KSB prerequisites of the Business Integrative Core (or equivalent coursework at an IU campus outside Bloomington).

Students must have a passport valid for six months beyond program's end date.

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.

Spring 2023

• IU portion of fee: $237.21
• CIEE portion of fee*paid to IU bursar: $18,952.50 (academic fees, housing, two meals per day for those in homestay (no meals included for apartment or residence hall options), orientation, local excursions, cultural activities, and medical insurance)
• Meals: $1,500 - $5,400
• International Airfare: CIEE estimates $1,250 (for East Coast departures)

*Special discounted CIEE fee for IU students. Based on published CIEE materials. Indiana University cannot guarantee the prices charged by CIEE and is not responsible for any price increase or change. The program qualifies for need-based CIEE Overseas Study Program Specific Scholarships. 

Personal expenses and vacation travel additional. Initial prepayment of $500 due October 11, 2022.
