• Summer Language Program with Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) at St. Petersburg State University
• Typical enrollment: 50 students from U.S. colleges and universities

• "Summer Russian Language" Program* track
• 10 IU credits
• Intensive language study and area studies courses
• CIEE Russian language courses include grammar, phonetics and conversation. Courses in film and music add to the cultural component of understanding the Russian language.
• 7-10 students per class
• Local excursions, field trips to places of historical and cultural significance

You may apply if you:

• are an undergraduate student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress
• are in at least your third full-time semester of college
• have taken or are enrolled in fourth semester college-level Russian
• have approximately a 2.75 cumulative GPA

Students must be able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and self-reliance.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.

Summer 2020

• IU portion of fee: $232.56
• CIEE portion of fee*paid to IU bursar: $9,020.06 (academic fees, room, most meals, medical insurance, field trips, visa fees)
• Additional Meals: $1,265
• International Airfare: CIEE estimates $1,000 for East Coast departures

Indiana University cannot guarantee the prices charged by CIEE and is not responsible for any price increase or change. Program qualifies for need-based CIEE Overseas Study Program Specific Scholarships. Applications should be submitted to Overseas Study at the time of program applications.

Airfare, personal expenses and vacation travel additional. Initial prepayment of $500 due March 2, 2020.
