For IU Bloomington students, guidance starts with the Overseas Study Peer Counselors.

Not only were we recently abroad, but we have been trained in the many options available to IU students, as well as the IU policies and procedures to study abroad. Much like this presentation, we can help guide you through the initial search for programs. We can also talk to you about the experience of being abroad: both the hardships and the many rewards.

On weekdays, while classes are in session, you can find us at the Office of Overseas Study weekdays, from 10am – 4pm, or at our Exploratory Center in the Global and International Studies Building, from noon – 3pm. You might also see us around campus: at a table, in a class, or at a wide range of events around campus.

Students can also find guidance from staff members in the Office of Overseas Study. Study Abroad Advisors are professional staff who can provide deeper insight into specific programs, and help you find the best fit between similar programs. They can also help you identify what coursework you need, and what you would be able to fulfill while abroad.

The Study Abroad Advisors take walk-ins on weekdays: from 1-4pm at the Office of Overseas Study, and 10-Noon at our Exploratory Center in the Global and International Studies Building. To schedule an appointment with an advisor, call the Office of Overseas Study.
